The spectrum of our films in 2016 was exceptionally large – as well as that which the themes, and the geographical distances, addressed. Our films came from Israel, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Tunisia and Germany – and several directors and contributors also found their way to Bad-Sarrow in 2016. Mohamed Ben Attia arrived from Tunisia with “HEDI”; Saar Maoz from Israel (“Who’s gonna love me now”), the Azerbaijani Director Imam Hasanov, the German Directors Frauke Sandig and Kerstin Höckel, as well as Film Editor Rune Schweitzer had all similarly travelled from further afield. Moreover, guests and supporters of the festival also included Wolfgang Kohlhaase, Dany Levi and Roland Zehrfeld. Actors, along with prominent participants, took part in the discussion round with the theme ’Home’. Barbara Schöneberger led the conversation between Roland Zehrfeld, Alexandra Maria Lara, Valentin Platareanu and Lorna Ishema to great public interest.
