Insights into Iran: Asieh Amini on resistance and poetry

A special highlight of the festival was the appearance of renowned journalist, poet and women’s rights activist Asieh Amini. Amini, one of the leading voices in the fight for women’s rights in Iran, touched the audience with impressive insights into the current situation in the country and the situation of women. With powerful words, she shed light not only on the social challenges, but also on the important role of poetry as an expression of resistance and hope.
She was a guest following the screenings of the Iranian films TERRESTRIAL VERSES and MY FAVORITE CAKE, the closing film of the festival.
