Moving words on the opening day

The first day of the festival ended with a memorable evening! In a brilliant welcoming speech, the Franco-German publicist, talk show host, lawyer and philosopher Prof. Dr. Dr. Michel Friedman appealed to the principle of human rights “EVERYONE is someone” (after George Tabori) and called on us to stop waiting and get involved NOW for democratic coexistence.

Following Friedman’s speech, the new, deeply moving film by Andreas Dresen IN LIEBE, EURE HILDE was shown in the Kulturscheune, which was filled to capacity. Dresen and the two actresses Liv Lisa Fries and Sina Martens were visibly moved by the prolonged applause and the emotional reactions of the audience.
