In memory of Margot Friedländer

It is with sadness and deep respect that we bid farewell to Margot Friedländer. With her dignity and presence, she was a tireless voice for remembrance and reconciliation.

We are grateful that we were able to welcome Margot Friedländer as a guest of honor at our film festival last year. Her deeply moving speech in front of more than 250 festival guests in the Eibenhof’s culture barn will always remain in our memories. Friedländer emphasized the power of film to enable people to understand each other better and to be tolerant.

Her admonition to keep the memory alive – not with bitterness, but with faith in goodness and humanity – is our mission and motivation to make a contribution to understanding with this festival as well.
