Peace as a process: film and discussion on ways and possibilities

There were many questions from the audience during the panel discussion on the documentary film “How Wars End and Peace is Possible.” Participants included Daniel Gerlach, Middle East expert and editor-in-chief of zenith, and Jobst Knigge, director of the film. Together with Katrin Sandmann (TV producer) and Wolfgang Bergmann (head of ARTE), they discussed the conditions and opportunities for lasting peace—and the responsibility of the media, politics, and society to actively shape this process.

The film and the subsequent discussion impressively demonstrated that peace is not a state, but an ongoing process that requires courage, empathy, and humanity. The audience responded with great interest and many questions—a morning full of food for thought and hope.
