Surprise for Helke Misselwitz

Cult documentary filmmaker Helke Misselwitz thrilled the audience in conversation with Annekatrin Hendel about her film WINTER ADÈ, which is now considered a classic of East German documentary filmmaking. The film tells the story of the different lives of various women whom Misselwitz met on a train journey from Rügen to Zwickau in 1988 – one year before the fall of the Berlin Wall.
There was a special surprise at this screening at the FILM OHNE GRENZEN festival: Janin Wenzel, one of the protagonists of the film, was sitting in the audience. She was 14 years old when the film was shot. Misselwitz and Wenzel had last seen each other in 1992 at a screening of WINTER ADÈ.
