Totone is young, loud and always on the move. He lives in a small village in the French Jura, loves dancing, flirting and his freedom. But when his father dies, he barely has time to think. Suddenly he is responsible for his little sister, the run-down farm and everyday life, which is more demanding than any party. Totone has a plan: he wants to make the best Comté cheese in the region. With a little luck and a lot of courage, fame, money and perhaps a little order in the chaos await.
HOLY COW is a rousing debut film by Louise Courvoisier – a loving homage to country life, to youthful clumsiness and to all the little moments in which responsibility grows. Between barn, cheese cellar and village disco, the film tells with a lot of heart and humor about growing up in a world where you are rarely asked if you are ready.
