In this gripping drama based on his personal experiences, Serbian filmmaker Vladimir Perišić evokes a harrowing moment in his country’s past from the vulnerable perspective of a teenager. In the midst of the 1996 protests, in which students and members of the opposition party speak out against Milošević’s electoral fraud, 15-year-old Stefan is faced with an inner conflict. In addition to his resentment towards the nationalist government, he has a personal dispute with his mother, who works as a government spokesperson. This forces him to come to terms with his own values and ideals, while at the same time trying to reconcile his relationship with his mother. Does he stand up for his convictions or does he remain loyal to his family?
“The film is characterized by an urgency and restlessness that resonates with the political protest of a modern generation.” (screenplay)
