Anna, a security officer, lives with her daughter Iris in a luxuriously furnished high-rise on the edge of a forest. To live here, shielded from the threatening environment, is the goal of many people. But when the caretaker’s dog Gerti disappears, fear creeps into the house from under the doorstep. Iris is convinced that her evil eye is responsible for the dog’s disappearance. To dissuade Iris from this belief, Anna begins a search for the missing dog. The neighbours, however, find Anna’s behaviour more than suspicious: they are convinced that Gerti’s dog died a violent death. When Anna tries to bring the neighbours to their senses, investigations are launched against her. The pressure mounts and Anna’s situation becomes more and more hopeless. How far is she willing to go to ensure that she and her daughter can stay in the house?
