Auf der griechischen Insel\u00a0Arki\u00a0<\/em>leben nur 30 Bewohner, darunter das einzige Kind Kristos. Der 10-j\u00e4hrige ist der Sohn einer Hirtenfamilie und besucht das letzte Grundschuljahr. Das Klassenzimmer wird zum Kammerspiel zwischen dem einzigen Sch\u00fcler und seiner Lehrerin Maria, die gro\u00dfes Potential in Kristos sieht. Sie r\u00e4t den Eltern, Kristos auf ein weiterf\u00fchrendes Internat zu schicken. Kristos Vater jedoch m\u00f6chte, dass er auf der Insel bleibt und wie seine Br\u00fcder in der Familientradition Sch\u00e4fer wird. Der Film wurde mehrfach ausgezeichnet, unter anderem mit dem Doc.fest Preis der SOS-Kinderd\u00f6rfer weltweit: \u201c Der Film begibt sich auf Augenh\u00f6he des Jungen und taucht in seine Gedankenwelt ein. Ein bewegender Einblick mit visueller Strahlkraft. Mit sehr poetischen, langsamen Bildern f\u00e4ngt die Regisseurin Giulia Amati die Last des Jungen ein, der das ganze Gl\u00fcck der Insel auf seinen Schultern zu tragen scheint\u2026\u201c (Auszug aus der Begr\u00fcndung der Jury)<\/p>
