Proben und Szenen aus dem Tanz bilden den Kern von Pol Pot Dancing \u2013 in gewisser Weise kann der Film, indem er diese Kunstform ehrt, als eine Abrechnung mit dem Diktator bezeichnet werden, der die k\u00fcnstlerische Ausdrucksform, die zum kulturellen Erbe der Welt geh\u00f6rt, fast ausgerottet hat.\u201c (DEADLINE)<\/p><p>Die Start\u00e4nzerin Chea Samy erzieht liebevoll ihren Z\u00f6gling am K\u00f6nigshof Kambodschas. Jahre sp\u00e4ter, als Zwangsarbeiterin der Roten Khmer, erf\u00e4hrt sie mit Entsetzen, dass aus ihrem Ziehsohn der Diktator Pol Pot geworden ist. Der Film unternimmt eine filmische und t\u00e4nzerische Spurensuche in das dunkelste Kapitel der Geschichte Kambodschas und beleuchtet die Verbindung zwischen Chea Samy und Pol Pot. Noch nie wurde die Geschichte von Pol Pots Werdegang und seiner Beziehung zum Tanz erz\u00e4hlt. Chea Samy, die ihm sogar ein Studium in Paris erm\u00f6glichte, erkennt Jahrzehnte sp\u00e4ter in ihm ihren Ziehsohn. Trotz des Grauens seines Regimes \u00fcberlebt sie und bewahrt den kambodschanischen Tanz vor dem Vergessen.
