Doch als\u00a0erster kenianischer Film \u00fcberhaupt wurde er zu\u00a0den Filmfestspielen in Cannes 2018 eingeladen.\u00a0Kena lernt schon fr\u00fch in ihrem Leben, dass die\u00a0M\u00e4dchen in Kenia gut und brav zu sein haben,\u00a0damit sie auch sp\u00e4ter gute, brave Ehefrauen\u00a0werden. Ihre Mutter, die Kena alleine gro\u00dfzieht,\u00a0wird daf\u00fcr verantwortlich gemacht, dass ihr\u00a0Mann sie wegen einer j\u00fcngeren Frau verlassen\u00a0hat. Nun erwartet dessen neue Frau auch noch\u00a0einen Sohn. Doch Kena m\u00f6chte mehr aus ihrem\u00a0Leben machen. Ebenso die gleichaltrige Ziki, die\u00a0im selben Viertel wohnt und davon tr\u00e4umt, durch\u00a0die Welt zu reisen. Die beiden jungen Frauen\u00a0freunden sich trotz der politischen Rivalit\u00e4t ihrer\u00a0Familien an. Als sie sich ineinander verlieben,\u00a0sind sie gezwungen, zwischen pers\u00f6nlichem\u00a0Gl\u00fcck und gesellschaftlicher Akzeptanz
