Die Hoffnung liegt auch auf einer Gruppe Teenagerinnen unterschiedlicher Herkunft, die ihren Platz in der Region und in der Gesellschaft beansprucht. Wer bin ich? Und wer will ich werden? Die M\u00e4dchen haben Sehns\u00fcchte, Tr\u00e4ume, W\u00fcnsche und sind auf der Suche nach M\u00f6glichkeiten, diese umzusetzen. Die Filmemacherin Rand Beiruty, selbst in zwei Kulturen beheimatet, empowert sie dabei. Sie er\u00f6ffnet den jungen Frauen Spielr\u00e4ume f\u00fcr ihre eigenen Erfahrungen und gibt ihnen durch den Film die Chance, die Kraft hinter diesen zu entdecken. Feinf\u00fchlig beobachtet und immer auf Augenh\u00f6he mit den Protagonistinnen. Es ist eine Freude, den M\u00e4dchen beim Erwachsenwerden zuzusehen. Die Stoffentwicklung fand im Rahmen des Wolfgang Kohlhaase Stipendiums statt.<\/p><p><strong>Biografie\u00a0der Regisseurin<\/strong><\/p><p><em>Rand Beiruty<\/em>\u00a0ist Autorin, Regisseurin, Produzentin und Mitbegr\u00fcnder von Shaghab Films, einer jordanischen Produktionsfirma. Sie studierte an der Bauhaus-Universit\u00e4t Weimar und promovierte anschlie\u00dfend praxisorientiert an der Filmuniversit\u00e4t Babelsberg.
