Die beiden lieben sich, sie versorgen mit Hingabe ihre vier Kinder, trotz aller Armut und H\u00e4rte, die das Leben am Rande des real existierenden Sozialismus mit sich bringt.<\/p><p>Immer mehr Nachbarn und Freunde wagen die Flucht \u00fcber das offene Meer, und nicht alle kommen an. Der alte Fischer versteht sie nicht, er h\u00e4ngt an den Idealen der Revolution, an seiner Arbeit. Doch Mariela ist jung, auch sie tr\u00e4umt von Freiheit und Wohlstand. Je mehr Touristen in das arme Land kommen, desto h\u00f6her steigen die Preise, desto h\u00e4rter wird das \u00dcberleben f\u00fcr die Familie. In langsamen, einf\u00fchlsamen Bildern zeigt dieser preisgekr\u00f6nte Dokumentarfilm die Zerrissenheit einer hoffnungslosen Generation zwischen Familie, Heimat und dem Traum vom besseren
