Youth projects\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

The youth projects of the\u00a0FILM WITHOUT BORDERS\u00a0<\/strong>Festival take place all year round and are aimed at young people from Brandenburg with a wide range of activities. In keeping with the festival theme of ALL PEOPLE, the youth work focuses on empathy and social interaction.<\/p>

The films created in the youth projects are seen far beyond the district and Europe's borders and win awards at international festivals. The artists and filmmakers\u00a0Anna Faroqhi\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Haim Peretz<\/strong>, who supervise the youth projects are available for discussions.<\/p>

Youth jury<\/strong><\/h1>

\u00a0<\/strong>The festival program is accompanied by a\u00a0Youth jury<\/strong>\u00a0helped to shape. The 30 jurors from an 8th grade class at the European School in Storkow met for five days in July. At Schukurama Beeskow, they watched and discussed five films, two of which they selected for the youth program. The films will be shown on\u00a0Friday, 12.9<\/strong>. will be presented by the youth jury itself. The program is aimed at school classes, but this year it is also open to interested festival visitors.<\/p>

A new format is the offer\u00a0Fit for school cinema<\/strong>. To strengthen the culture of discussion in the youth program, workshops and teaching materials are offered that prepare for the special features of the films with their demanding content.<\/p>

The feature films selected were<\/strong><\/h3>

CHRISTY,<\/strong>\u00a0Director: Brendan Canty,\u00a0<\/strong>Ireland 2025 SCHULKINO1 and\u00a0SAMIA<\/strong>, Director: Yasemin \u015eamdereli, Deka Mohamed Osman; Italy, Germany, Belgium, Sweden 2024 SCHULKINO2.<\/p>

CHRISTY\u00a0<\/strong>tells the story of a 17-year-old from a difficult background who is trying to get his life under control on his own. He has to decide which people he wants to be with and what kind of person he wants to be.<\/p>

The film is convincing because it is authentic and interested in the question of whether people can be free. (Text: Youth Jury)<\/p>

SAMIA\u00a0<\/strong>is set in civil war-torn Somalia. Despite all obstacles, the girl Samia tries to pursue her dream of a career as a runner.<\/p>

Encounter and film projects<\/h1>

The encounters with young people in the district result in various film projects that are shown on the\u00a0FILM WITHOUT BORDERS\u00a0<\/b>Festival will be presented. The focus is on the current topics of empathy and social interaction.<\/p>

Humming pictures<\/b><\/h1>

In a creative workshop, the\u00a0Preschoolers at the Gro\u00df Schauen daycare center<\/strong>\u00a0into the life of bees - with a visit to the beekeeper, a miracle disk, a laying trick, shadow play, their own drawings, natural materials and conversations. This resulted in the magical short film\u00a0Humming pictures\u00a0<\/strong>(D 2025, 9\u201843\u2018\u2018), which shows the social life of bees and the joy of moving images. The movie will be shown on\u00a0Thursday 11. 09. 2025 at 8.15 pm i<\/strong>presented as part of the opening program.\u00a0

Small monuments<\/h1>

Every year, the Bad Saarow church's confirmation classes clean the stumbling blocks in the village. The small memorials commemorate Jewish people and their last place of residence before they were persecuted and disenfranchised under National Socialism.<\/p>

The filmmakers Anna Faroqhi & Haim Peretz were allowed to make a short film together with young people, in which some of the lives behind the stones become visible.<\/p>

The film is still being finalized and will be released on\u00a0Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 5 p.m.<\/strong>\u00a0Presented as part of the opening program of FILM OHNE GRENZEN.

Youth vote<\/strong><\/h1>

A few days before the federal election in February 2025, the junior election took place nationwide. 2.2 million votes were cast. The pupils of the Europaschule Storkow also dared to go to the ballot box, with the polling assistants coming from the student body. The filmmakers Anna Faroqhi & Haim Peretz were allowed to accompany the elections and a discussion in a school class about the election results with the camera. The result is the film documentary\u00a0Youth vote<\/strong>\u00a0(D 2025, approx. 10min.), which is currently in post-production. The movie will be released on\u00a0Friday, September 12, 2025 at 3 p.m.<\/strong>\u00a0will be presented at the festival.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Stills in Motion<\/strong><\/h1>

Monday afternoon is girls' day at the Storkow youth club. The girls aged between 9 and 16, many of whom have a migration and\/or refugee background, find a safe space here. In an encounter and media education project, they are introduced to photography and a creative approach to the moving image. The project picks up the girls in their living environment and focuses on the aspect of movement in a variety of ways. The FILM OHNE GRENZEN team works closely with the youth club's social workers and will be taking part in Makerspace Storkow for the first time in September 2025 with a project for young people. The girls from the youth club are also invited. If possible, the project will be continued from October 2025. Interim results of the creative processes will be presented in the Media Box at the festival.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Workshops \/ Continuation<\/strong><\/h1>

Each project gives rise to new projects and opportunities for encounters. The films from the projects regularly travel around the world and win awards at international festivals. In numerous short projects coordinated with the partners, the youth work team negotiates topics relating to media and political education with young people from the region and beyond throughout the year.<\/p>
