Moving movie night in cooperation with WOMEN FOR WOMEN International

FILM WITHOUT BORDERS and Women for Women International hosted a film evening at Palais Lichtenau in Potsdam on May 7, 2024. „We dare to dream“ by Oscar-nominated director and WfWI ambassador Waad Al-Kateab was shown. The director tells the inspiring and stirring story of refugee athletes from Iran, Syria, South Sudan and Cameroon who overcome all odds to take part in the Tokyo Olympics and work towards a better life.

This was followed by a panel discussion with Dr. Manja Schüle, Minister of Science, Research and Culture of the State of Brandenburg, and Friederike Behrends, Chairwoman of the Management Board of Postcode Lottery. The discussion was moderated by Caroline Jane Kent, Managing Director of Women for Women International Deutschland gGmbH, who was proud to announce that the new participants in the 2024 Olympics had been announced shortly before our film evening. These included some of the athletes from the film, such as the Iranian Saeid Fazloula, who will be going to Paris in the summer. A very touching moment for our guests.
