Shabbat dinner out of control: when all the parents and in-laws sit at the table for the first time, a sudden death (or even a murder?) disrupts the long-awaited harmony. Between panicked concealment, cultural friction and all kinds of absurd twists and turns, a family evening turns into an explosive comedy.

Parents and in-laws meet in the living room - not an easy situation anyway. The fact that there is a dead body in the bathroom doesn't make things any easier. Nor does the fact that the body should actually be taken away, but without breaking the rules of Shabbat. Director and screenplay co-writer Daniel Robbins wanted his film to be deeply rooted in its milieu, that of New York Jews. Shot in an apartment on the Upper West Side, it is about people who are also at home in the secular world, but who also take their faith seriously. In addition to the patchwork of secular and religious life, there is the conflict between old and young, knowing better and defiance, secrecy and pomposity - everything that makes up family life. A whirlwind of a movie that won the Audience Award at last year's Tribeca Film Festival - and rightly so!
