Rio de Janeiro, 1950: Euridice and her older sister Guida grow up sheltered in a strict household. The talented Eurídice finds in her big sister the support she desperately needs in a patriarchal society. While Guida encourages her little sister to seriously pursue her dream of a life as a professional pianist, she also constantly confides her latest romantic adventures in her. However, when she elopes to Greece with her boyfriend and returns months later pregnant and without a man, she is disowned by the family: her father treats her like an outcast and tells her that her sister has moved to Vienna to study music. Eurídice, he leaves in the dark about her sister's whereabouts. Will the two sisters ever find each other again?
