School cinema 2019

As part of the FILM OHNE GRENZEN youth program, this year we are once again inviting students from the Oder-Spree district to film screenings followed by discussion sessions. The school screenings will take place on Thursday morning at 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM in the cultural barn (Kulturscheune) of Gut Eibenhof.

School Cinema 2019 Program:

9:30 AM: „24hEuropa – The Next Generation“

A day in the European universe, told through the eyes of the young as a departure into life, at the fracture zones of the continent. Told in real time, without interruption, from six in the morning to six in the morning. A program of parallel worlds and contradictions, a document of the times, a manifest. Excerpts will be shown followed by a discussion in the presence of director Britt Beyer and the two protagonists and activists Natalia Pancewisz and Marta Lempart.

11:30 AM: „Kleine Germanen“ presented by the Moses Mendelssohn Foundation

The documentary by filmmakers Mohammad Farokhmanesh and Frank Geiger combines animation and documentary film to tell the stories of children who grew up in right-wing extremist families. The animated story of little Elsa, who as a child always played soldier with her grandpa, runs like a thread through the narrative. With her arm outstretched, Elsa would shout „For Führer, people, and fatherland!“ and was very proud of herself at the time. Now she looks back on her childhood, which was built primarily on hate and lies. In doing so, she tries to understand what this type of upbringing has made of her and her own children.
