Katrin, who moved from Freiburg, is unemployed and a single mother of a son. Nike works odd jobs as a geriatric nurse. When Nike begins a relationship with the truck driver Ronald, Katrin feels left alone and numbs her loneliness with alcohol. After a night of heavy drinking, she is admitted to a psychiatric ward due to alcohol abuse. Meanwhile, Nike takes care of her son Max. But things aren't going smoothly with Ronald either.
