Volker Schlöndorff invites you to a conversation with this year's guest of honor, Wolfgang Kohlhaase.

The famous screenwriter and filmmaker Wolfgang Kohlhaase worked with directors such as Konrad Wolf, Frank Beyer, Andreas Dresen, and Matti Geschonneck and wrote the successful screenplays for films such as „In Times of Fading Light“, „Summer In front of the balcony“, „The break“, „Berlin - Corner Schönhauser “ , „As We Dreamed“etc. Kohlhaase is a sharp observer and thereby paints a lifelike picture of his characters. His material deals with everyday stories and shows a great flair for unvarnished, authentic realities.

Collaboration on films is of particular concern to Kohlhaase, and so he has frequently accompanied the shooting of his films. Kohlhaase has received numerous awards for his work, including the Honorary Golden Bear of the Berlinale and the German Film Award.
