A short film about a big topic: Katja Benrath tells a true story that took place on the border between Kenya and Somalia. She was awarded the 2018 Golden Student Oscar for this highly topical film. With her graduation film at the Hamburg Media School, the director shows the difficult coexistence of Christians and Muslims in Kenya - and how religious boundaries are overcome through deeply human behavior. A young Christian woman boards an intercity bus to travel to northern Kenya - surrounded by Muslim travelers who are visibly hostile towards her. After an arduous journey, they are attacked by the Muslim terrorist group al-Shahaab in the border region with Somalia. They demand that the Christians be handed over. But their Muslim fellow travelers refuse and disguise the young woman so that she can escape certain death. In doing so, they put their own lives in danger...
