The film tells the touching love story of two very different women who keep their relationship a secret for years.

Pensioners Nina and Madeleine live in the same house. To the people around them, they are neighbors, but the two have been a couple for decades. Their big dream is to move to Rome together and spend the rest of their lives together. So far, however, no one knows about their passionate love for each other. Until a tragic event throws their plans into disarray.

Director Filippo Meneghetti describes a great love in secret in an authentic and sensitive way. Martine Chevallier is convincing as a timid family mother who bows to social conventions, while Barbara Sukowa shines as an energetic fighter who is prepared to risk everything for love.
