THE LOST MAN

One day, twenty years after their divorce, her ex-husband Kurt shows up at Hanne's door. Because of his dementia, he cannot remember the separation and is initially taken in by Hanne and her new husband, retired pastor Bernd. Hospitality and charity are quickly put to the test as Kurt still considers Hanne to be his wife and makes advances toward her accordingly. Together they search for lost memories, feelings, and the path between love and friendship.

In his feature film debut, Welf Reinhart tells the story of the tragedy of getting older and forgetting. With subtle humor and the sensitive performances of Harald Krassnitzer, Dagmar Manzel, and August Zirner, the film explores the prospects and abysses of an unusual ménage à trois.
