Three siblings in their prime and all three suddenly find themselves in a crisis: Stefan, a womanizer and successful pilot, loses his job, his sister Julia gets so caught up in caring for a street dog that her marriage is in danger, and Tobias, the man of the house, suddenly has to look after his stubborn elderly parents as well as his children. The siblings' community seems to work, and yet they largely live side by side.

People who are thrown out of their well-ordered path of prosperity by fate, warmth that only makes itself felt rarely and between the lines - Edward Berger's film is a thoroughly composed symphony of slow, quiet images, absurd moments and escalating situations. The fact that his characters occasionally make fools of themselves only goes to show that they need to rethink things. The family is sometimes a catalyst, sometimes a strong net.
