But Beautiful

Erwin Wagenhofer following „We Feed the World“ and „Alphabet,“ asks the question in his new documentary of how to make the world a better place. Where can one find approaches to an »alternative« way of living? What beauty does the world already hold?

Wagenhofer visited people who are breaking new ground and pursuing alternative lifestyle concepts. He encounters a forester in the snowy forests of the Salzburg region, a Swiss couple who want to transform a wasteland into paradise on La Palma, and the sister of the Dalai Lama. All of them believe in their power to make the world a little better. Alongside impressive imagery, the film raises questions of mindfulness and compassion, making it clear that in a world of finite resources, only one thing can grow: the quality of our relationships.
