The scientist Alma works at the famous Pergamon Museum in Berlin. To secure funding for her research, she agrees to take part in an extraordinary experiment. For three weeks, she lives with a humanoid robot designed to transform into her perfect life partner using artificial intelligence. Although love is the last thing Alma needs in her life, caught between a demanding workload, a failed relationship, and daily worries about her demented father, Tom cannot simply be brushed aside. After all, the attractive human-shaped robot is built to make Alma happy. A tragicomedy unfolds that explores notions of love and longing while asking what makes a human being.

The film had its world premiere in competition at this year's Berlinale. Maria Eggert received the Silver Bear for her role as the scientist Alma.
