Screening at Cinema Bad Saarow

The self-confident German-Persian Nico is a cheerful person. She loves her job as a geriatric nurse and is popular with everyone due to her easygoing and understanding nature. She enjoys the Berlin summer with her best friend Rosa until a racist attack suddenly tears her away from her carefree everyday life. After that, nothing is as it was: security gives way to mistrust and Nico withdraws. Plagued by fragments of memory of the terrible deed, she decides never to be a victim again and begins training with karate world champion Andy. Is this the way out of her anger and the chance to regain her old self-confidence?

Eline Gehring's feature film debut premiered in January 2021 at the Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival in the Feature Film Competition section and was awarded the prize for „Best Emerging Actor“.
