Youth Election 2025

A few days before the federal election in February 2025, the Juniorwahl took place nationwide. 2.2 million votes were cast. The students of the Europaschule Storkow also ventured to the ballot box, with the election workers coming from the student body. Filmmakers Anna Faroqhi & Haim Peretz were allowed to use their cameras to accompany the elections and a discussion in a school class about the election result. The resulting film document Youth vote (G 2025, approx. 10 min.). The short film was created as part of the FILM OHNE GRENZEN youth program

Punching the World with a Fist

In 2006, the brothers Philipp and Tobi are growing up in the East German province. The family is building a house, but with the sudden death of construction helper Uwe, the disintegration begins. Unemployment, alcohol, and the unresolved GDR past shape the environment. The father loses his job, the mother barely holds daily life together—right in the middle of it all, two boys left to themselves.

Between quarries, rapeseed fields, and forests, they find moments of freedom. But where prospects are lacking, right-wing groups are gaining influence. When a refugee shelter is planned, the situation escalates. Philipp withdraws, Tobi fights—against the world and against himself.

Punching the World with a Fist is an intense drama about childhood, loss, and the search for belonging. Director Constanze Klaue tells an impressive story about two brothers growing up in a fractured society – based on the novel by Lukas Rietzschel.
