The film about a very special coming-of-age story of a boy in the Andes was named best Peruvian film at the 2017 Lima Film Festival and won the L'Oréal Teddy Newcomer Award at the 2018 Berlinale. Fourteen-year-old Segundo lives with his parents in a village high up in the mountains of Peru. His father Noé is a respected artist and Segundo's role model. With loving dedication, he crafts altarpieces for churches and homes and introduces his son to the trade. Together they hike many kilometers through the mountains to deliver the fragile works of art. But their close relationship has developed cracks since Segundo learned a secret about his father that he cannot talk about. Then the secret comes to light. An unsparing look behind the facade of a seemingly intact village community where patriarchal rules are enforced with unrelenting violence.
