This moving documentary takes us to an East Ukrainian village right in the combat zone between Russians and Ukrainians. Ten-year-old Oleg and his grandmother are increasingly the only ones who do not flee – where would they go, they only have each other. In almost too-beautiful images, it is shown from Oleg's perspective how childhood between everyday life and constant rocket fire is becoming increasingly lonely.

We are pleased to present this film in collaboration with Save the Children Germany as a pre-release screening because it impressively describes the fragility of growing up between school, the swimming lake, and war. Simon Lereng Wilmont accompanied Oleg for a year: the slender boy has more freedom than other children, but he also has to grow up depressingly early. Only the close-knit community with his grandmother and his last remaining friendships carry him through the nagging questions, the loneliness, the constant threat.
