Film screening at the Kulturscheune Eibenhof

Joseph and Sonya are bound by a close friendship and their young son Pino, whom they are raising together. While director Joseph is working on a new film idea and the break-up with his ex-boyfriend Marc, Sonya is suffering from depression, which is increasingly tearing her out of her life. When she is admitted to a clinic, Joseph not only has to juggle his everyday family life, but also his artistic ambitions.

In his second feature film, writer and director Fabian Stumm („Bones and Names“) mixes a wide variety of emotional tones to create a tragicomic reflection on reality. „Sad Jokes“ is absurd and banal, hopeful and touching or - as in real life - everything at once.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with director Fabian Stumm and Haley Louise Jones.
