Hirayama cleans public toilets in Tokyo. He seems fully satisfied with his simple, secluded life, dedicating himself outside of his highly structured daily routine to his passion for music, which he listens to on cassette tapes, and for literature, which he reads every evening in used paperbacks. Through a series of unexpected encounters, a past that he has long left behind gradually comes to light.

PERFECT DAYS is a deeply touching and poetic contemplation of the beauty of the everyday world and the uniqueness of every human being.
