On the festival Saturday, prior to the evening film at 8:30 PM, this year's scholarship holder will be announced by Felix von Boehm (producer and advisory board member) and welcomed in person. In addition to the new scholarship holder, filmmaker Kai Stänicke, who was the 2023 Wolfgang Kohlhaase scholarship holder, will also be a guest. At that time, Stänicke worked on his feature film debut „Der Heimatlose,“ which is currently having a successful theatrical run.
The Wolfgang Kohlhaase Fellowship is a funding program in cooperation with Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Antonius Jugend- und Kulturförderung e.V., Lupa Film GmbH, and FILM OHNE GRENZEN e.V., aimed at international filmmakers who want to discover Berlin and Brandenburg as well as filmmakers living in Berlin or Brandenburg who want to develop international film projects.
