Surprise for Helke Misselwitz

Cult documentary filmmaker Helke Misselwitz inspired the audience in conversation with Annekatrin Hendel about her film WINTER ADÈ, which is now considered a classic of East German documentaries. The film tells the story of the different lives of various women Misselwitz met on a train journey from Rügen to Zwickau in 1988 - one year before the fall of the Berlin Wall.

A special surprise at this screening at the FILM WITHOUT BORDERS festival: Janin Wenzel, one of the film's protagonists, was sitting in the audience. She was 14 years old at the time of filming. Misselwitz and Wenzel had last seen each other at a screening of WINTER ADÈ in 1992.
