FAVORITE PEOPLE - THE EXTRAORDINARY FRIENDSHIP OF AGNES AND AMIR (Festival Preview) + Announcement of the Wolfgang Kohlhaase Scholarship Recipient

The film tells the true story of Agnes, a 101-year-old Berliner, and Amir, a 31-year-old gay refugee from Iran, who form an Unusual Living arrangement. Initially skeptical, a deep friendship develops between the two, offering mutual support, courage, and new perspectives on life.

Agnes struggles with questions of self-determination in old age, while Amir tries to gain a foothold in a foreign society. The comedy shows how integration and intergenerational solidarity work, and deals with themes such as loneliness, age differences, and cultural differences

Announcement of the Wolfgang Kohlhaase Scholarship Holder

The Wolfgang Kohlhaase Scholarship is a funding program in cooperation with Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Antonius Jugend- und Kulturförderung e.V., Lupa Film GmbH, and FILM OHNE GRENZEN e.V. The scholarship is aimed at international filmmakers who want to discover Berlin and Brandenburg, as well as filmmakers who live in Berlin or Brandenburg and want to develop international film projects.
