Police

18-year-old Anton moved out of home early and is training to be a chef. He lives with his girlfriend in a garden shed – his life finally seems to be on an even keel. But suddenly he receives an indictment: two years ago, on May 1st, he allegedly attacked a police officer and threw a bottle at him. Anton can hardly remember the day. On the advice of his lawyer, he begins to reconstruct the events and face a past that he thought he had put behind him long ago.

The movie depicts the powerlessness of an individual against state institutions and paints the picture of a generation that was left behind during the pandemic and had to find itself.

At the center is the portrait of a young man who, in his search for the truth, must realize that he is not the perpetrator, but rather the victim of a vortex of violence and structural power relations—and who, above all, is wrestling with himself and his own past.
