Program opening with Hannah Arendt...

Ticket sales for the 13th International FILM WITHOUT BORDERS Festival have begun. More than 25 selected feature films and documentaries offer the opportunity to explore the festival motto ALL HUMAN!. Filmmakers, scientists, and experts are once again invited to the panel discussions this year.

The festival kicks off with the Festival Preview HANNAH ARENDT – THINKING IS DANGEROUS (Sept. 11, 5 PM). Can the work of the political philosopher help us understand the „human condition“ in the 21st century? Following the screening, we will discuss this and other questions with Prof. Dr. Barbara Hahn, literary scholar and one of the main editors of Hannah Arendt's works, and Anna Faroqhi, filmmaker and illustrator of the graphic novel „Andersdenkerinnen – Annäherungen an Helene Nathan, Anna Seghers und Hannah Arendt“.

After a one-hour break, the opening day continues at 8:15 PM with the touching drama 22 TRACKS and a post-screening discussion with Laura Tonke.

Welcome speakers of the 13th FILM WITHOUT BORDERS Festival are Sarah Duve-Schmid, Managing Director of Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Dr. Manja Schüle, Minister for Science, Research and Culture of the State of Brandenburg, and Frank Steffen, District Administrator of the Oder-Spree district.
