For the wealthy Wegmeister-Gloor family, it is clear after the elderly head of the family suffers a stroke: Josef will not be placed in a nursing home. Instead, young Wanda from Poland is hired to care for him around the clock at home in the villa on Lake Zurich. The work is poorly paid, but Wanda needs the money for her own family in Poland. Since everyone lives under one roof, Wanda gets an intimate glimpse into the family life of the rich and respected Swiss family. So intimate that Wanda unexpectedly becomes pregnant. The family reacts with horror, everyone's nerves are frayed. Unsparingly and with pitch-black humor, director Bettina Oberli looks behind the scenes of a seemingly stable family life.
