WILD HEART

The film by actor Charly Hübner portrays the lead singer of the punk band „Feine Sahne Fischfilet“ from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Jan „Monchi“ Gorkow talks about his activism against racism, sexism, and homophobia, his own personal development – and the shift to the right in the East. Country excursion in Mecklenburg: On their tour „Not completely screwed yet“ („Noch nicht komplett im Arsch“) during the 2016 election year, the band opposes the right-wing scene in the region. Dozens of hate emails are the least of the problems the musicians and their frontman have to contend with – for years they were kept under surveillance by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution due to an „anti-state attitude“ and were considered the "most dangerous band" in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. At the same time, Gorkow talks about his time as an ultra for Hansa Rostock, about experiences with violence, and his gradual politicization. Charly Hübner's documentary depicts a federal state caught between anger and resistance and won four awards at the International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film.
