WORKSHOPS / SCHOOL CINEMA 2017

This year, pupils from schools in Bad Saarow and Fürstenwalde watched the feature film „Bach in Brazil“. The filmmaker Ansgar Ahlers then led a lively discussion with German pupils and young people from welcome classes. Using making-off material and original scripts, the pupils were given an insight into the making of the film. The discussion about what they had seen extended far beyond the festival days and was thus able to make an important contribution to extracurricular education. The FILM WITHOUT BORDERS team is very keen to fulfill an educational mission in this form.

Workshops

While we only offered one workshop for German and refugee students in 2016, in 2017  realized two different media projects as part of the film festival. In both projects, the young people were able to develop a greater understanding of each other through their intensive work together. In the first workshop, “ word-e-scape“,The first workshop was about dealing with writing and language. In the second workshop „SonONOlux“, silent films were set to music by the young people with the help of instruments.

Both projects were presented at the festival, the work of the word-e-scapeworkshops were also presented and exhibited at the school. These workshops were supervised by Eunice Martins, Laura Mello, Heidrun Schramm and Nicolas Wiese.
