3 x „Zuversicht“ in cooperation with the FILMUNIVERSITÄT BABELSBERG KONRAD WOLF

In cooperation with the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf, FILM OHNE GRENZEN presents three short films on the theme of CONFIDENCE (Festival Opening, August 31). The films were created as part of „The Island“ format, a Filmuni Summer School project for study preparation for refugees and migrants. „The Island“ was conceived in 2016 by Barbara Albert and Jean Boué, who has directed the workshop ever since. Participants from nine nations created three films on the theme of confidence that could not be more different.

In the documentary „Mrs. Schneider and Her Trees“ (by Nataliya Kulykova, Mykyta Pavlov & Sheldon Ridley), an old woman talks about life and death, war and staying. The fictional short film „To Stay“ (by Tatiana Burgos, Gabriela Kliemann Dias & Farid Wahid Nader) deals with post-traumatic stress disorders in refugees. The mockumentary „Apocalypse Later“ (by Kyrylo Alferiev, Florian Rudolph & Yueqi Wu) examines whether people in the Brandenburg province are ready to establish post-apocalyptic Chinese rehabilitation centers.

Following the screening, the filmmakers will provide insights into their experiences.

The following films will be shown:
