Seventy-seven-year-old Tereza lives in an industrial city in the Amazon region—quiet, determined, and with a watchful eye on what is happening around her. When one day she receives instructions to relocate to a remote senior colony where the „elderly“ are supposed to „enjoy“ their final years while the youth dedicate themselves to productivity, she rebels against her prescribed fate. Tereza makes a courageous decision: she sets off on a journey through the sprawling network of the Amazon to fulfill one last wish—before her freedom is lost for good.

In his poetic, visually stunning film THE DEEPEST BLUE, director Gabriel Mascaro („Neon Bull“) tells a story of dignity, resistance, and the power of self-determination in old age. Denise Weinberg shines in the lead role as a woman who refuses to be silenced—and whose journey across the water leads to a final, profound realization.
