The protagonists Mostafa, Mojtaba, Mohebi, and Alireza from Afghanistan and Iran attended the pre-premiere of the documentary „Are You Kidding Me, Doll?“. They traveled specifically for the event and facilitated an intensive exchange with the audience in the subsequent film discussion. Outside the barn, the conversation continued with Caritas residents, leading to a wonderful encounter and a touching exchange.

The film, directed by Hanna Schygulla, the grande dame of European cinema, follows the lives of these young refugees over several years, documenting their development since „The Unaccompanied“ (2017) with spontaneous mobile phone recordings. Migration is a personal issue for Schygulla, as she herself had to flee Upper Silesia with her family as a child.
