Movie screening DENKSTE PUPPE

In 2015, the young people Mostafa, Mojtaba, Mohebi and Alireza fled Afghanistan

and Iran to Berlin. In 2017, Hanna Schygulla portrayed the four men in the film „The Unaccompanied“ - now, seven years later, she revisits them together with Veronika Urban. Together they ask: how have the young men arrived in the present? Where do they feel they belong?

Hanna Schygulla does not wait for film funding and budget, but starts

NOW. She responds to the threats in the present with mutual exchange and togetherness - in her medium, film. With her friend Veronika Urban and a small team, she gets going and shoots whenever a spontaneous moment arises - eager to discover, eager to play. With unbridled curiosity and humor, she herself reaches for her cell phone camera, as do the young men when the moment cannot be captured any other way. This creates closeness and authentic openings: cross-generational now shots show multi-layered and many-sided encounters.
