HOCHWALD

Sensitive Mario lives in a small village in South Tyrol. He is passionate about dancing and dreams of a career as a dancer. He is viewed critically by the other inhabitants. One day, Mario meets his childhood friend Lenz again; the two have known each other since childhood. Now they are 20 years old and on the verge of leaving the confines of their village behind them. Lenz clearly has the better cards in his hand than the dreamer Mario. Mario develops real feelings for Lenz and follows him to Rome, where they meet in a gay bar. Lenz does not really reciprocate Mario's feelings. In the bar, Lenz is the victim of an assassination attempt. Mario survives and returns to his home village alone, his life seemingly turned upside down.
