Readings and concerts 2026

In addition to the film program, there will also be special events this year:

Look forward to two very different, but very special readings: The author and journalist Simon Strauss reads from his book „Close By – On the Political Value of an East German Longing“ and explores social cohesion, democracy, and the importance of local community. Şeyda Kurt presents her extraordinary debut novel, which oscillates between apocalypse, solidarity, and the question of new forms of living together. Stirring, intelligent, and full of hope, she tells a story of a world in decay and the possibility of reimagining it.

The musical accompaniment will be provided by Berlin-based musician Pete Fosca Jr. with guitar-based songs, minimalist beats, and an atmospheric sound blending indie, pop, and singer-songwriter styles. The musical program is complemented by the Berlin-based duo featuring singer and composer Mia Gjakonovski.
