System sprinkler

SOLD OUT!!!

Even the screenplay was award-winning; at this year's Berlinale, the feature film debut by director Nora Fingscheidt won a Silver Bear. We are showing the pre-cinema premiere of this unsentimentally yet sensitively told story about the unpredictable nine-year-old Benni.

Benni grows up in a succession of social welfare facilities. She has to change caregivers and institutions because her impairment and vulnerability regularly cause her to display explosive aggression toward herself and others, and despite great human and pedagogical efforts, she cannot be integrated anywhere for long. Benni shatters the system, and during her outbursts of anger, she also shatters the cinematic images, which splinter into action, memories, and nightmares. This film asks with oppressive ruthlessness about the place for fragile outsiders and supposedly dysfunctional people in our society.
